Tips for getting your flower delivery Brisbane safe and on time

Ordering your fresh flower arrangements is the fun part. But what’s not fun? When a delivery goes awry.

While our team is always highly conscientious when it comes to ensuring delivery, we do need our customers to do their small part as well. So, here are our tips to getting your flower delivery Brisbane safe and on time!

Tips for flower delivery Brisbane

Check your details

One of the most common errors we see when deliveries go wrong is that the delivery address is not correct. This is most common when flowers are being sent as a surprise. In those situations, sometimes customers want to keep the surprise to themselves, so they don’t ask the intended recipient to confirm their mailing address. And that can lead to problems.

We always encourage our customers to double check the recipient’s address, even if they have to make an oblique request (this time of year, maybe you’re updating your Christmas card list!). Or you can ask a friend or family member to confirm.

You’ll also want to make sure we have a good contact number – either for you or the recipient. So our drivers can follow up if something goes wrong.

Assess access

Another common error with flower delivery Brisbane is when there’s limited or no access to the recipient’s home or business. This can happen when people live in a gated premises or secured building. If there is no one there to answer, there’s nowhere else for us to leave the arrangements.

It’s a great idea to check if that’s the case. And if it is, let us know and give us a back-up address. That way we can deliver the flowers before it’s too late even if the recipient isn’t home. Of course, if that’s not an option, we can always take the delivery back to our shop and will contact the recipient to arrange pick up or redelivery then.

Confirm your timing

Timing is key when it comes to the delivery of flower arrangements. You don’t want to a delivery to go to an empty home. (A weekend away is wonderful, except when flowers are at stake!) And you want to make sure it won’t come at a bad time (in the middle of a wake, for example). As long as the person will be at home at some stage that day, and it’s a good day for flowers (and most are!), then you’re good to go.

Using our same day delivery service helps with timing too!

Consider cut off dates and times

If you’re hoping for a delivery at a certain time or date, be sure to check cut-off times for ordering. For our same day delivery, for example, arrangements need to be ordered by 10am to give us time to create the arrangements and get them on our delivery truck and out to the recipient.

Busy times of the year, like Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day (when we generally require 24 hours’ notice), will likely have different cut off times and dates as well. You’ll want to double check these in advance to ensure that you’re getting your beautiful and thoughtful gift to the recipient at just the right time.

Finally, public holidays can throw a snafu in the works. Generally deliveries requested on a public holiday will be delivered on the following business day.

Keep in mind rules for funeral parlours, hospitals and businesses

Our customers often send sympathy blooms to funeral parlours. Or to hospitals or other businesses to brighten someone’s day. In those cases you’ll also want to take the extra step of checking the businesses’ own rules for delivery and time constraints.

Sometimes funeral parlours and hospitals only want to accept flowers at certain times. And often businesses, especially small businesses around the holidays, will have shut downs.

While we will always do our utmost to adhere to the delivery needs of certain businesses, we also strongly suggest providing us with a secondary address. This way the flowers can still be delivered if there are any problems with the first delivery address.
